1315 Concert Hall Greifensee
The proposal attempts to read and interpret the built surrounding and its past – its shapes, colours, constructions and typologies – in order to derive from them its repertoire for the new concert house. The typology of the barn references the past buildings of the site and offers at the same time new and different spacial qualities and flexibility. A perforated copper skin covers the metal framework – in size, texture and colour related to the existing roof tiles of the adjacent buildings. Within the concert hall a big folding gate opens up the stage towards adjacent plaza. Depending on the production the city’s plaza becomes the stage’s background or the spectator’s auditorium.
