1419 National Gallery Budapest

The proposed concept locates the two museum – the Ludwig Museum and the National Gallery – within one building at the end of a historical axes, running through the Liget Budapest Park. Both museums can be accessed through the buildings central courtyard. The groundfloor with its plazas and alleys and its multitude of of public uses resembles a market square. The exhibition rooms with their flexible wall system are located in the upper floors. The structural elements of the museum are made of wood. Rainwater, sun, wind and the earths warmth are integral elements of the energy concept.
