1004 Weiherholz

The building appears like a white monolith right next to the edge of the forrest. Its position on the hillside allows for a view onto the surrounding hills and mountains. The old trees at the back of the house and garden provide a protective spacial completition for the ensemble. The task was to modernize the building from the 60ies and to rethink the special concept of the house in order to meet contemporary needs.

The groundfloor was then re-interpreted and revised, now boxes divide the open living space. Kitchen, bathrooms and stairs remained on their original spot to save costs. The special plastered exterior walls are seamlessly attached to the roofs' cladding and the profound embrasures enhance the monolithic appearance of construction.
